During a desktop file cleanup I (re)discovered my notes from this year's Northern Voice conference. Well, technically it was the Friday Moose Camp which preceded Northern Voice proper.
The following notes are from the Leadership Hacks session lead by David Sifry, a self described "serial entrepreneur", founder of Technorati, cofounder of Sputnik, and cofounder of Linuxcare.
- Rules for Entrepreneurs
- Find your passion
- Team, team, team
- Lead, don't manage
- Develop leaders - 80% of your top 20%
- Prepare for the scalability trap

- Remember, it is a business
- Vision is easy, execution is hard
- Be of service
- On Outside Investment
- Understand your business
- Hold off as long as possible
- NEVER underestimate a customer's cheque
- Investors must be peers
- Look for people who can help the business
